Dec 19,  · We heard “Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding” on the radio yesterday and so today I pulled out the album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road to give it a listen. The classic by ELTON JOHN still remains his greatest accomplishment, and in – a year late in celebrating the album’s 40th anniversary – the two-record set was reissued as both a deluxe CD box set and an amazingly great.

It was designed to be a blockbuster and it was. Prior to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Elton John had hits -- his second album, Elton John, went Top 10 in the U.S. and U.K., and he had smash singles in "Crocodile Rock" and "Daniel" -- but this album was a statement of purpose spilling over two LPs, which was all the better to showcase every element of John's spangled personality.9/

Camille from Toronto, Oh I was a teenager and loved had loved Elton John's music for years when the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album was released. There were so many songs on it that I like much better than Bennie and the Jets, like Gray Seal, Funeral for a Friend, Love Lies Bleeding, Harmony.
