The sound is NOT excellent, in fact it's some of the worst I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot of Andrews Sisters collections. The song selection wasn't too good either. As far as the documentation goes, it's so-so at best and the photographs in the booklet were pretty badly scanned as well. Do yourself a big favor and avoid this box set/5(10).

There are a few Andrews Sisters CD compilations using, as the title, one of their huge # 1 hits, Rum And Coca-Cola. Accompanied by the Vic Schoen orchestra (as were the vast majority of their national hit singles from to ), it spent TEN weeks at # 1 Pop as well as crossing over to # 3 R&B in the January to March stretch of on Decca (b/w One Meat Ball, a # 15 on its own /5(2).

Oct 15,  · Update (08/18/11): This song WAS originally by a Trinidadian by the name "Lord Invader". His version is quite great too, but the lyrics are much different.

The Andrews Sisters were an American close harmony singing group of the swing and boogie-woogie eras. The group consisted of three sisters: contralto LaVerne Sophia (July 6, – May 8, ), soprano Maxene Anglyn (January 3, – October 21, ), and mezzo-soprano Patricia Marie "Patty" (February 16, – January 30, ). The sisters have sold an estimated 90 million records.
